We’re sure some of you know him already. For many more, he will be the first person to greet you when you arrive at LAN. Alejandro Ruiz is our wine tourism manager. He is not only the person who welcomes our visitors; he is also a real expert in our history and our wines, making every visit with him a completely personal experience.
Detail-orientated and friendly, sociable and calm, Alejandro holds a degree in tourism from the University of La Rioja and loves meeting people from all over the world. His experience has taken him as far as Pompeii in Italy, where he started his career, and after returning to Spain, he worked as part of the hospitality team of a Michelin-starred hotel and restaurant. He has been our brand ambassador for a few months now and leads our new wine tourism project.
It was our love for the land that inspired Alejandro to find out more about our story told in three letters. A never-before told story that now has an exceptional narrator, who will show you every detail of our winery. He will tell you how the selection of the grapes affects the wine, the importance of wood in ageing that respects the raw material, the extreme care that we take in the winemaking process, the magic behind our barrel cellar… All the work that we carry out in LAN so that our wines are a faithful reflection of the land that they come from.
Alejandro loves enjoying nature in his spare time and he has found Viña Lanciano, very close to the ruins of the Mantible Bridge a place to lose himself in. Passionate about the winemaking tradition of the area, Rioja-born Alejandro also loves the local cuisine and is an enthusiastic cook. As well as showing you round our winery, he will help you select your favourites from the LAN range, wines that will transport you back to our vineyard with every sip. Why don’t you come and meet him?
